[ event: Flashback ]
Once upon a time, the people of Storybrooke were once the characters from the fairy tales we all grew up with. Then the curse hit and everyone was trapped without their memories in the town we know quite well already.
We all know that story, of course, but what about before the curse? Well, that's where this post comes in. There are untold stories from before the curse that we would like to investigate and these flashbacks posts are where you tell them. Post with your character (with a location or plot idea if you wish) and tag others, as long as they are in their fairy tale forms (sorry Henry and Emma players). We ask that you warn for spoilers in your subject line if you intend to use knowledge gained from tonight's episode in your scenario. Thank you!
Remember, everyone, play nice and have fun.

Do you travel much?
no subject
Traveling has become my life.
no subject
You don't say? That's always an adventurous way to live.
no subject
Adventurous is putting it lightly, I think. You sound as though you're familiar with such a lifestyle.

[ They've arrived to the cave now, and the opening is large enough that it's not necessary for them to duck inside. It's a modest sized hole in the wall, and Snow has to subtly kick her pack deeper into the cave in hopes of keeping her gathered wealth safe. ]
Cozy, isn't it? [ The gathered firewood is dropped off to the side of the fire which has long since gone out. ]

[ He hears the sound of the pack scrape, but says nothing on it. Instead he places his small collection next to Snow's pile and gives it a look. ]
It would be cozier if we could get this started again. You have any tinder?
no subject
Here you go.
no subject
Well, that's better, don't you think?

[ She lowers herself down next to the fire, huddling in close to let the warmth seep into her. ]
Is it your first time to visit the Lakesee Kingdom?
no subject
My second, actually. However, I didn't come nearly as far into the forest last time.

[ Snow holds her hands out to the fire, and once the heat seeps last her gloves and she can actually feel her fingers, she brings her hands beneath her hood to press against her cheeks. ]

I'm usually a better tracker than this, but I think the foreign forests have thrown me off. [ Which isn't true at all. It fits his story, however, and he'll stick with it. ] How far are we from civilization, would you say?
no subject
Only the rare carriage passes through these parts of the forest, though none have come through since the start of the winter.

[ She tries her best to hide the spite in her words, but there's still a bit of an edge in her tone. ]
no subject
Why is that?
no subject
[ She hopes that the answer will suffice, and grabs a twig from their pile of firewood to idly poke at the flames. ]
no subject
That seems to be the way with most royalty.
no subject
She gives the flames a particularly hard stab. ]
I take it that you've had some unpleasant experiences with royals?
no subject
My kingdom is currently at war. Our king is out there fighting, while his brother reigns in his stead. [ He shakes his head. ] Though 'reign' may be giving him entirely far too much credit.

[ And she genuinely is. It's shameful, but sometimes she is so wrapped up in her own problems that she forgets that there is a world out there with people scourging to live each day, as well. ]
