[Location: A booth at Granny's Diner]

[Mother and Liz are off on a shopping spree and have once again left Stacy to her own devices. Sitting at her usual booth and on her second piece of cherry pie, which she doesn't seem to be eating so much as randomly poking with her fork. Lost in thought, she occasionally doodles something in her notebook.]

Huh? [Stacy looks at Ashley in confusion for a moment. Then she shakes off whatever thought was plaguing her] Ashley, what a surprise. [Stands up from the booth, tripping slightly but holding her footing. She then moves as if to hug Ashley but pauses and retracts as if having second thoughts Like what her mother would say if she heard that she'd hugged her. She gestures to the booth] Want to take a load off?

[Ashley's about to accept the hug when she moves away and she remembers that they're in a public place, now, and that just them talking was probably going to be the source of rumors.

So she'll bob a nod.] If you don't mind, that'd be lovely.

[Stacy settles down back into the booth] Don't mind at all. [She looks at her mess of cherry pie and winces.] Want some? [It is very busy at the Diner, so she doubts they'll get service any time soon. Especially with Ruby running the registar and her favorite waitor being at home sick.]

[She blinks in surprise.] Oh. Only if you don't want it.

[Slight blush] Its my second piece. [Pushes the plate towards Ashley.]

[Her notebook is sitting open, Ashley might glimpse a comic strip that Stacy drew.]

[A smile.] Well, thank you.

[She'll tilt her head just a little as she pecks at the pie, rocking Alexandra's stroller with her foot.]

What's that?

[Looks confused] What's what? [Follows Ashley's line of sight to her notebook and blushes.] Oh, just some doodles. [At least that what her mother calls them.]

[She raises a brow.] Doesn't look like just doodles to me.

[Stacey moves the notebook so Ashley can get a better look. The comic contains mice talking to birds. The both animals are dressed in clothes and are pointing at a cat that looks suspiciously like her mother's pet.]

[She smiles, giggling a little at the sight of the cat.] Oh, Stace, these are lovely.

[A firm nod.] Oh, definitely.
