[Location: A booth at Granny's Diner]

[Mother and Liz are off on a shopping spree and have once again left Stacy to her own devices. Sitting at her usual booth and on her second piece of cherry pie, which she doesn't seem to be eating so much as randomly poking with her fork. Lost in thought, she occasionally doodles something in her notebook.]

[It's lunch-time, which means the diner is full, but Bianca's last class went overtime. She hasn't really even stopped to change; she's still in her practise tights and sweatshirt as she orders a coffee, sandwich and cake, then turns around to find a seat.

[Yep, full. The only real space is across from the redhead staring absently into space as she doodles, so with a sigh Bianca grabs her purse and her purchases and heads over.]

Hey. Anyone in this seat?

Thanks.

[Bianca slides into the seat, putting her purse on the wall-side, spreading out a bit. She eyes the rather uneaten piece of pie.]

You realise pies have a purpose other than sitting on a plate, don't you?

Vanilla strawberry.

[Bianca frowns and slices off a piece, tilting it this way and that as if in examination. Why did she choose these flavours? It's not exactly typical, is it?]

Or some combination, anyway. Why did you get a second piece if you weren't intending to eat it?

So you get a second piece but don't eat it?

[Still with a sceptical eyebrow-raise, Bianca takes Stacey's hand and shakes it pencil and all, her grip firm and confident.]

Bianca Nott. Your family lives on the hillside, don't they?

[The hillside was where most of the real estate was. The Notts' townhouse wasn't there, but only because their land had once been Nottingshire, so it was nearer the forest.]

That's right. Just outside where the orchard used to be, before the mayor bought it out.

[It was overgrown now, but didn't belong in the least to them. Not that that stopped Marian from occasionally borrowing an apple or two. She gestures encouragingly with her used fork, her mouth full for a moment before she swallows.]

Well, go on then.
